Astrophotography Workshop – March

We meet just before sunset at the Carnarvon Space and Technology Museum as we step into one of Western Australia’s most iconic space exploration sites.

We’ll begin with an in-depth theory session inside the museum theatre, where you’ll learn how to confidently use your camera settings for night photography. Then, as darkness falls, we’ll head outside for a truly special experience.

For this workshop, we have rare after-hours access to the satellite dishes and grounds, an opportunity that is not usually available to the public. These historic structures, once part of NASA’s deep space tracking network, create an incredible foreground beneath the night sky.

You’ll put your skills into practice capturing the Milky Way rising behind the dishes, learning how to adapt your settings to different compositions and lighting conditions. It’s a unique combination of science, history and astrophotography, and one I’m so excited to share…
