Service Description
Experience the wonder of the night sky on an exclusive guided tour with an experienced astro photographer and astronomy expert. This family-friendly tour takes at Island Point Reserve 20 minutes south of Mandurah CBD. Island Point Reserve is a small peninsular that steps out into the Peel-Harvey Estuary giving fantastic views of the night sky in every direction. On this tour you’ll get the opportunity to view the mysteries of the universe guided by expert astrophotographer Suzy Jones. The night sky is dynamic and changing, but expect to see features like astrological constellations, Andromeda, Orion and Magellanic Clouds. This tour brings some unique elements of astrophotography to show you night sky objects you would not otherwise see. Please note telescopes are not used in this tour. You may have seen all the hype about the Aurora Australis (Southern Lights) recently. The aurora are incredibly elusive and we cannot predict when they occur. If we are incredibly lucky to have an aurora on the night of your tour your guide will use astrophotography to show you. Tour can accommodate up to 12 people. Adults: $50 Children 5-17 years: $35 Young children 0-4 years: Free Please declare any children 2 years or younger attending in the booking form 'notes'. Be aware that it is your responsibility to supervise your children during the tour. Due to the nature of night sky viewing we will not be using flashlights and it will be a dark environment. On this tour I utilise some of my astro skills to make visible some of the hidden wonders of our night sky. Please note that astrophotography techniques are not taught in this tour but you can always check out my Astro Workshop instead.

Cancelled outside of 7 days – full refund / 7days – 48hours, 50% cancellation fee Within 48hours – 100% cancellation fee Management reserve the right to cancel a tour at any time subject to unforeseen circumstances e.g. wild weather conditions or public health concerns. If the tour is cancelled due to overcast conditions the tour operator will contact to arrange an alternative date. If no suitable date is available, a full refund will be given.
